Looking for a travel adventure when you are in the Polokwane area? The Debegeni Waterfall will certainly be one of the biggest highlights of your trip!
The waterfall is about 80m high, and is fed by the Ramadipha River. Covered with thick green forests and a mountain scenery unlike any other.
What’s there to do?
The location is great for kicking off your shoes and relaxing for a few hours. You can have a picnic with the family, or solo hike your way up to the top of the waterfall.
Bird watchers will be in heaven as the surrounding forestry allows you to spot birds that you wouldn’t normally see.
There are braai areas placed around the waterfall for all our braai masters. You are more than welcome to bring your own drinks. (Please don’t litter near/on the site!)
There are several small rope bridges that connect the different picnic spots to each other. Perfect for those that want to take a memorable selfie or two.
What is nearby?
Haenertsburg is a beautiful village that is located nearby and has all the necessary stores you need for stocking up. They have a few local pubs and even a small museum that shows the history of the area.
Tzaneen is 18km away if you want to visit the nearest town from the area.
Where can you stay?
There are several hotels, guesthouses and camping spots in the area that are just a Google search away.
Just remember to be careful as the last few km is a steep gravel road and there are no active guards near the waterfall. Don’t let this discourage you from visiting one of Limpopo’s most beautiful scenery!
